UNESCO Representative in Pakistan appreciates Qatar’s support for educating out-of-school children in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan within the framework of “Educate a Child” program of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser

His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, met, on Friday 5/3/2021, in his office at the embassy,

Ms. Patricia McPhillips, Director of Office and UNESCO Representative in Pakistan.

Ms. Patricia McPhillips appreciated the efforts of the State of Qatar andthe continuous support it provides to the various UNESCO programsin the fields of education, science, culture and other areas of the organization’s work, all over the world.

The Director of the UNESCO Office in Islamabad praised the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Education Above All (EAA) for the efforts of Her Highness in the field of education around the world, expressing appreciation for the support of the Education Above All Foundation, within the framework of “Educate a Child Initiative” to ensure the right of Children in primary education in poor and remote regions of the world, especially in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which is one of the largest beneficiaries of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser’s initiative in Asia.

It is worth mentioning that “Educate A Child” program supports the enrollment of more than 1.6 million children deprived of their right to primary education in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, through eight different projects, implemented with the help of partners, such as UNESCO, British Council, UNHCR, Citizen Foundation and Alight Foundation, thus total support for education through “Educate a Child” programs in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan amounts to $ 124 million, and the contribution of the Education Above All Foundation in funding these projects amounts to more than $ 36.5 million.
