KPL Launched with flying colors in a mega event at Governor House Karachi

A combination of Pakistani International, emerging domestic and Kashmiri origin cricket stars are set to sparkle in the beautiful valley of Kashmir from April 2021 during the first edition of Kashmir Premier League (KPL).

KPL was launched officially in a mega event at Governor House Karachi on Thursday 24th December 2020 in the presence of Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chairman Kashmir Committee Mr. Shehryar Khan Afridi. Mr. Imran Ismail during the press conference said “the ‘Kashmir Premier League’ would be a new addition to the cricketing world and it would provide a platform to the new talent in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to come forward.” He also mentioned that “this project is in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of promoting tourism, sports and culture in the country and the commencement of the league would not only help put Kashmir on the global sporting map but its commencement is also a good omen as the whole world would now see the difference between Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir (IIOK) and the AJK.” Speaking on the occasion, Shehryar Afridi also shared his view saying, “they were not against the people of India, however, “we have the tendency of competition with them, whether it is sports or culture”.
